Frequently Asked Questions
Is this therapy?
No. Lingwell is not therapy and doesn’t replace clinical care. It is designed to support reflection, emotional processing, and clarity, especially in hard moments. Some people use it alongside therapy, others on their own.
What is a pathway?
Pathways are focused conversation modes. Each one is tuned for a different situation – such as stress, grief, or medical appointments – and helps you work through what matters. You can pick Open Conversation for open reflection or select a pathway that fits your moment.
Who sees what I write or say?
Only you do. You can save your summary if you choose. You can also share it with a provider or support person, but that is always up to you. If you came via a clinic link/QR, you can share your summary with the care team, only if you choose.
Is it anonymous?
Lingwell subscriptions are private and secure. Short term or single session passes can be used completely anonymously. You can use Lingwell without logging in or adding any personal information.
Can I try it without signing up?
Yes. In most settings, you can access Lingwell directly through a link or QR code. Organizations can also offer temporary passes or anonymous entry points.
What is the difference between individual and organization access?
Individuals can subscribe for ongoing personal use. Organizations (like clinics, shelters, or departments) can offer Lingwell to their teams or communities through subscriptions, pilot models, or embedded access in real-time settings.
Is my data safe?
Yes. Summary content is generated only when requested and saved only if you choose. Any data collected is fully de-identified and used only to improve the system.
Can I share my summary with a provider?
Yes. After your conversation, you can choose to copy or download your summary. Many users share it with a therapist, doctor, or caseworker to help prepare for or follow-up on a conversation.
Q: Is Lingwell HIPAA compliant?
A: Lingwell is built on a HIPAA-eligible infrastructure (AWS) and follows industry-standard privacy and security protocols. While we do not store or transmit protected health information (PHI) unless required by an organizational partner, we are prepared to meet HIPAA compliance standards as partnerships develop.
